Single-Session Virtual Counselling
If you’re not ready for a treatment program, or simply would like to speak with one of our professionals about your concerns, we now offer virtual single-sessions.
Single-session appointments are offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
You will meet with a highly trained professional, ready to answer your questions over the phone or through a secure video link.

Virtual Community Care Hubs
Virtual Community Care Hubs offer virtual group programming. Groups that have been offered include stress management, employment strategies and mindfulness.
Seeking Board Members
ASCO is currently seeking individuals knowledgeable about York Region, South Simcoe and/or North York who are interested in joining our voluntary Board of Directors. We are looking for a broad range of experiences, more specifically, at this time, individuals from the Indigenous Community, the 2SLGBTQA+ Community and Racialized Communities including people with lived experience.
Supports for individuals accessing mental health and addiction services in Markham, Thornhill, Stouffville and North Durham communities.
The Mental Health and Addictions Wellness Centre is a centralized model providing virtual mental health and addiction services to individuals 12 years of age and older delivered by health care professionals including; nurse practitioner, social worker, harm reduction worker, registered nurse and peer support worker.

Prescription Opioids: What Parents & Caregivers Need to Know
Parents and caregivers may not realize how harmful misuse of these drugs can be. Opioids can have harmful effects even when they are used as prescribed. When they are used without medical supervision, or combined with alcohol or other drugs, the harmful effects can increase and can be life-threatening.

ASYR Announces Name Change to Addiction Services Central Ontario
Addiction Services for York Region (ASYR) has changed its name to Addiction Services Central Ontario. The new name reflects the evolution, growth and significant geographic expansion of the organization and its services and programs.

For nearly 40 years, Addiction Services Central Ontario (ASCO) has been a leading government funded treatment provider for substance use, problem gambling and mental illness.
We place clients at the centre of their treatment —exploring their short and long-term goals with a respectful and understanding approach that meets their needs.
Community Impact for 2020/21
More than 25,400 visits by clients in the last fiscal year.
We helped 373 people look for affordable housing.
300 individuals received counselling for problem gambling.
