Parent Education

Are you a parent or guardian struggling with your youth’s substance use?

The Parent Education group might be right for you.

Join an 8-week virtual educational group comprised of two individualized meetings with trained addiction counsellors and six educational videos. For each video, participants will be given the opportunity to join weekly virtual meetings to receive immediate support and feedback from other participants and the group facilitators. Additional practice material will also be provided.

Parent Education Group Break-Down

Week 1:   One-on-one consultation with a group facilitator

Week 2:   Introduction and our philosophy understanding addictions

Week 3:   Learning to help

Week 4:   Managing our emotions, compassion and empathy

Week 5:   Values, bonding, and detachment

Week 6:  Communication

Week 7:   Self-care, reflection and moving forward

Week 8:   One-on-one closing consultation/referral session

Where We Help

The Parent Group meets virtually once per week and is led by group facilitators.
