Adult (25+) Substance Use

Our Adult Substance Use program provides counselling support to individuals 25 years and older making changes to the harmful use and impacts of substances in their lives.

We help individuals regain their sense of control and assist them in meeting their goals. 

We support people whose goals are to cut back on substances and reduce their harm. We also support people who choose to quit substances entirely.

Whatever your goals and needs are, we will work with you to create a personalized treatment program based on your preferences. 

This program is voluntary, and self-referrals are welcome. 

Referrals from other community agencies and physicians are also accepted with the client’s consent.

This program is offered at our main office in Aurora, many of our satellite offices as well as virtually.


Community Opioid Treatment Clinics

The community clinics helps individuals 18 years of age and older and their loved ones affected by  opioid use disorder and other substance use concerns. 

The program is provided from a harm reduction perspective which focuses on enhancing your wellness by preventing or reducing substance use related harms. 

Our committed team of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, counsellors, peer support and case managers provide access to holistic treatment options to support recovery within a welcoming, safe environment.

What We Offer:

  • A Harm Reduction approach that allows us to focus on minimizing the risks and harms associated with using substances
  • Opioid Agonist Therapy
  • Anti-craving medications
  • Substance use treatment options
  • Counselling (individual and group)
  • Case Management
  • Peer Support
  • Information Sessions
  • Complimentary therapies (Meditation, etc.)

Where We Help:

This program is offered through community clinics in Aurora, Thornhill and North York.


Pregnant and/or Parenting – Umbrellas

The Umbrellas Program is designed to support women aged 16 or older, who are pregnant and/or parenting young children ages 0-10. 

This program is for women who are using substances or have a gambling concern, or who may have past substance use concerns and are looking for support to maintain their recovery goals and reduce the risk of relapse. 

Our counsellors are respectful and caring, and will provide treatment and support based on your preferences, needs and circumstances.

  • Assessment and treatment planning
  • Individual Counselling
  • Group Counselling
  • Case Management Services
  • Peer Support Services
  • Referrals to parenting programs
  • Referrals to community partners
  • Specialized services offered through a Registered Early Childhood Educator

Concurrent Disorders – Mental Illness & Substance Use

Our Concurrent Disorders program helps people 16 years of age and older who have a serious mental illness that impacts their daily functioning and also have a substance use or substance dependence issue.

What We Offer:

  • A Harm Reduction approach that allows us to focus on minimizing the risks and harms associated with using substances
  • Education on how mental illness and substance use impact each other
  • Skills training on changing substance use
  • Individual Counselling to help you to manage your symptoms
  • Group Counselling
  • Aftercare and additional supports can be provided through internal or external referrals

This program is offered at our main office in Aurora, many of our satellite offices and virtually.


Youth (12-24) Substance Use 

Our Youth & Family program is for young people between the ages of 12 and 24, their parent(s) or primary caregiver(s) and their loved ones. 

What We Offer:

  • A Harm Reduction approach that allows us to focus on minimizing the risks and harms associated with using substances
  • Assessment and Treatment Plan
  • Counselling
  • A Youth Substance Use Group

Parents Group:

Parents and primary caregivers are also welcome to access our services.

We offer parents:

  • An 8-week Parent Education Group that provides opportunities to share ideas and strategies and support other parents experiencing similar challenges
  • Parent support sessions for both individuals and couples
  • Family consultations which can be a great first step to discuss options and services available

The program is offered at our main office in Aurora, many of our satellite offices and virtually.

We also provide some counselling services directly within a limited number of schools.
