October 25, 2024
Aurora, ON — (October 25, 2024) — On Friday, MPP Michael Parsa attended the Addiction Services Central Ontario’s (ASCO) Annual General Meeting to formally congratulate the group on receiving a $31,000 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) this summer. The grant will be used to make some needed upgrades to the building that will create a safer space for staff and clients to meet.
“Congratulations to Addiction Services Central Ontario on receiving a $31,000 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all who rely on your services,” said Michael Parsa, MPP for Aurora-Oak Ridges-Richmond Hill. “Investments like these are crucial in ensuring that both staff and clients have the supports they need to focus on care and recovery.”
With these funds, the ASCO will be able to install an advanced filtration system that will filter out harmful particles and improve air quality. The organization will also install new UV lights and ultra high efficiency air filters for HVAC equipment in its main clinical location to ensure a safer environment for everyone.
“We are very grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for this grant,” said Penny Marrett, Executive Director, Addiction Services Central Ontario. “This funding will allow us to continue our commitment to staff, clients and visitors alike, to have a safe and comfortable environment when seeking services from ASCO or attending a meeting in our Aurora Main Office.”
