Adult Substance Use Treatment
Who We Help
The Treatment Group is a CLOSED group and must be joined at the beginning of its cycle. It is available to ASCO clients who are 25 years and older.
How We Help
This is a therapeutic group for individuals who are actively working towards their goals around substance use in a safe, supportive environment. The goal of the group is to teach skills related to control of substance use or abstinence.
The group is structured and involves interpersonal sharing, giving feedback, and challenging one another to develop more constructive patterns of behaviour.
The group runs for an 8-week cycle. Topics covered include:
- Welcome and Introductions
- Communication and Assertiveness
- Self Care
- Healthy Relationships
- Anger and Fear
- Shame and Guilt
- Sadness
- Goal Setting and Hope
